The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all Nigerian tertiary institutions to complete their 2025 admission processes by December 31, 2025.
This directive, outlined in a weekly bulletin released on Monday, follows the schedule approved at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education.
The deadline applies to all institutions, public and private.
However, a phased approach is in place:
Public Universities: October 31, 2025
Private Universities: November 30, 2025
All Other Institutions (Public and Private): December 31, 2025
According to JAMB, institutions should finalize admissions well before these deadlines, even if the new academic session hasn’t begun saying that completed admissions should be archived regardless of session start dates.
The board stressed that all admission processes must adhere to these timelines.
Furthermore, institutions utilizing post-UTME screenings must conclude these processes promptly to meet the overall December 31 deadline.
The aim of this directive is to stabilize the academic calendar and ensure fair access to admission slots across all tertiary institutions.
