The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has advised all Nigerians to acquire combat skills for self-defence.

General Musa compared learning combat skills to other essential life skills like driving and swimming, stating that these skills are crucial for survival.

He noted that in Europe, learning about security and swimming are considered compulsory.

“Security and and combat skills should be taken as serous as learning driving and how to swim. Whether we have war or not, it is a survival instinct. he stated.

He also proposed that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) should train Nigerian graduates in unarmed combat skills to help them protect themselves against criminals.

The CDS emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and encouraged citizens to be more aware of their surroundings to identify and respond to potential threats.
