Governor Sanwo-Olu Promotes Lagos’s Sports Business Potential

The Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu who recently hosted the National Basketball Association NBA Africa team, has described Lagos as a prime destination for sports business.

​The governor told the visiting team that Lagos is perfectly positioned to deliver significant returns for sports investors.

He cited the state’s wealth of talent, strong administrative leadership, and business-friendly policies as key reasons why Lagos is an ideal “arena” for sports business.

“Our great state, filled with talents and creative minds in different sports, is without doubt a fitting arena for investors in the sports business. In addition, we have tested hands in sports administration, the right policies and an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, fostering inclusion and shared prosperity,” he said.

​In response, Tunde Folawiyo, the head of the NBA Africa team and a prominent business leader, praised Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to developing local talent and upgrading sports facilities.

He stated that he and his partners are inspired by Lagos’s positive signals and will continue to work on bringing more investors to the city.
