Air Tanzania has officially launched flight operations into Nigeria, marking a major milestone in strengthening air travel connections across Africa.

The inaugural flight signals the airline’s strategic expansion plan and further underscores Nigeria’s role as a vital hub for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.

The maiden flight from Dar es Salaam touched down in Lagos yesterday, inaugurating a direct air link between East and West Africa.

Aviation experts note that this new route is expected to boost bilateral relations, stimulate business opportunities, and enhance regional connectivity.

According to the airline, the service will operate three times weekly.

Flight TC226 departed Dar es Salaam at approximately 8:30 p.m. and arrived in Lagos at 11:59 p.m., while the return flight, TC227, will take passengers back to Tanzania.

The launch of this new route opens more travel options for business executives, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts.

It also highlights Air Tanzania’s growing ambition to expand its network across the continent, bridging regions and fostering closer African integration.
