VON Broadcaster Cynthia Okere Honoured with SOEHPON Media Excellence Award

Cynthia Okere, a broadcaster with the Voice of Nigeria (VON), has clinched the prestigious 2025 Society of Occupational and Environmental Health Physicians of Nigeria (SOEHPON) Media Excellence Award for her outstanding reportage in the Radio/Social Media category.
The honour, presented at the inaugural Media Excellence Awards during the SOEHPON Conference and Gala Night in Lagos, marks the second time Mrs. Okere has been recognised for her sustained commitment to covering workplace safety and public health issues across Nigeria.
SOEHPON National President, Dr. Musa Shaibu, explained that the awards were established to celebrate journalists who actively advance occupational health practices through impactful reporting.
Dr. Shaibu noted that Mrs. Okere’s winning submission distinguished itself with its strong clarity, depth, and relevance to Nigeria’s evolving labour and health realities.
