Chelsea Hand Lacroix No. 23 Shirt as Chalobah Nears Como Move

Chelsea’s new signing, Maxence Lacroix, is set to wear the club’s No. 23 shirt following the completion of his move to Stamford Bridge, with the jersey becoming available as Trevoh Chalobah closes in on a transfer to Serie A side Como.

The No. 23 shirt was previously worn by Chalobah, whose expected departure has paved the way for Lacroix to inherit the number as he begins his Chelsea career.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on X on Sunday, writing: “Maxence Lacroix will wear the No. 23 shirt at Chelsea following the completion of his move. Chalobah is now on the verge of completing his move to the Serie A side, paving the way for Lacroix to inherit the shirt.”

Lacroix arrives at Stamford Bridge after impressing as a dependable centre-back during his spell at Crystal Palace and is expected to strengthen Chelsea’s defensive options ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, Chalobah is nearing the completion of his move to Como, where he is set to begin a new chapter in the Italian top flight after coming through Chelsea’s academy and spending several seasons with the Blues.
