Nigerian-born WWE superstar Oba Femi delivered the biggest victory of his career on Saturday night after defeating Brock Lesnar in a brutal Hell in a Cell match at the 2026 SummerSlam event held at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The victory marked Oba Femi’s first appearance inside the iconic steel structure and further cemented his status as one of WWE’s fastest-rising stars. It also handed Lesnar his first-ever defeat in a Hell in a Cell match.
The highly anticipated encounter saw both superstars exchange punishing attacks before Oba Femi emerged victorious in front of a packed crowd, extending what has become a remarkable rivalry between the two wrestlers.
After the match, Lesnar embraced Oba Femi in the ring and publicly endorsed him as the future of WWE.
Speaking after the contest, Lesnar acknowledged that his time at the top was coming to an end while expressing confidence that Oba Femi would carry the company into a new era.
Reacting to the gesture, Oba Femi admitted he was surprised by the show of respect.
“Brock is The Beast, and that hug and public endorsement definitely caught me by surprise. I didn’t see that coming. I know that deep down Brock has always respected me, and he knows that I respect him as well,” he said.
The Lagos-born wrestler has enjoyed a sensational 2026 campaign. Earlier this year, he defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania before winning the prestigious King of the Ring tournament in June, achievements that have established him as one of WWE’s leading attractions.
With his latest triumph at SummerSlam, Oba Femi adds another milestone to his growing legacy while reinforcing his position as one of Nigeria’s most successful exports in professional wrestling.
