Army Detains Two Soldiers Over Peller, Jarvis Wedding Security

The Nigerian Army has taken two serving soldiers into custody following their alleged involvement in an unauthorized security detail at the lavish Lekki wedding of popular content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, and fellow TikTok star Jarvis.
The arrests were carried out on Tuesday morning following credible intelligence that exposed the soldiers’ illegal assignment at the high-profile social event in Lagos State over the weekend.
Official military records identify the detained personnel as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa (23NA/85/10007) and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi (23NA/85/7885), both attached to the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH) in Obalende, Lagos.
“Following credible intelligence on the involvement of Nigerian Army personnel in illegal deployment during a popular social influencer’s wedding known as Peller at Lekki, Lagos, the Group arrested 23NA/85/10007 PTE Onasanya Ifeoluwa of 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH) and 23NA/85/7885 PTE Ukpai Onyinyechi of 81DMSH at Obalende this morning,” a military source disclosed.
“Preliminary investigation is ongoing to establish the extent of their involvement and identify other personnel connected with the incident. Further details will be forwarded as the investigation unfolds,” the source added.
The military hierarchy stepped in after viral footage from the star-studded ceremony flooded social media platforms, showing uniformed personnel managing access and guarding VIP guests. Public outrage flared after one specific video surfaced, allegedly showing a soldier functioning as a bouncer while escorting TikTok personality Ivanna through a dense crowd.
While Peller and Jarvis’ wedding stood out as one of the weekend’s most talked-about pop-culture moments—drawing top-tier entertainers and massive crowds—the online narrative quickly shifted to criticism over the misuse of state security assets.
The Nigerian Army has repeatedly reminded its personnel that undertaking unauthorized private security duties or taking part in non-sanctioned operations carries strict disciplinary action under military law.
Investigations remain active to determine if higher-ranking personnel authorized the duty or if additional soldiers were involved.
