WAEC Releases 2026 WASSCE Results,

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates in Nigeria.
Announcing the release on Thursday, the Head of the Nigeria National Office of WAEC, Dr. Amos Dangut, disclosed that 1,834,695 out of 1,950,726 candidates, representing 94.05 per cent, have had their results successfully processed and released.
According to him, 116,031 candidates, accounting for 5.95 per cent, still have one or more subjects undergoing processing.
“The affected candidates need not panic, as the outstanding results are currently being processed and will be released within the next few days,” Dangut assured.
Speaking on the overall performance of candidates, the WAEC boss revealed that 1,687,378 candidates (86.50 per cent) obtained credit passes in at least five subjects, irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
He further stated that 1,200,514 candidates, representing 61.54 per cent of those who sat the examination, earned credit passes in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics—the benchmark widely required for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The release of the results comes after WAEC delayed publication beyond its earlier projected date, citing operational challenges.
Candidates who participated in the examination have been advised to obtain their result-checking PINs through WAEC and access their results only via the council’s official result portal.
