Singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has reacted after his twin brother, Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, made fresh allegations concerning the treatment of his wife, Lola, by their late mother and other members of the Okoye family.

Mr P made the allegations in the eighth episode of his ongoing video series, where he has been sharing details about the long-running dispute involving the former P-Square members and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.

Following the release of the episode, Rudeboy took to social media on Friday and appeared to defend their late mother, Josephine Okoye.

Unfortunately, you’re not here to defend yourself. Continue resting, Mum,” he wrote.

Although Rudeboy did not directly address the specific allegations made by his twin brother, his post was widely interpreted as a response to Mr P’s account.

In the latest episode of his series, Mr P recounted an alleged family confrontation that took place at his residence in Omole after Lola had given birth to their son.

According to him, his mother visited the house but asked to see Lola before seeing the baby. Mr P said Lola was subsequently invited to the residence, where a meeting involving their mother, Jude, Rudeboy, Tony and some pastors allegedly took place.

He claimed that neither he nor Lola was offered a seat when they entered the room.

Everybody was seated… I went to call Lola. When she entered the room, nobody stood up or said, ‘Lola, sit down.’ Nobody even bothered to welcome her properly. Lola and I just sat on the floor,” he said.

Mr P alleged that their mother then told Lola that the Okoye family had decided she should leave him.

Young woman, we the Okoye family have decided that you should leave our son alone,” he quoted his mother as saying.

He said the situation became emotional after Jude allegedly told him to leave Lola, while she questioned what was happening.

Mr P further alleged that Jude picked up a photograph of his infant son and made a derogatory comment in Igbo, which Lola allegedly understood to mean that the child was a “bastard.”

Lola started crying. The pastors tried to calm her. They pushed Lola out of the house,” he alleged.

The singer also claimed that tensions over his relationship with Lola had existed before the birth of their son. According to him, Jude and Rudeboy opposed Lola’s pregnancy and an anonymous email questioning the paternity of his unborn child was circulated.

Nothing that Jude and Paul didn’t do for Lola to take that pregnancy out,” he alleged.

Mr P claimed, however, that their mother later acknowledged that the child was his biological son and asked his brothers to apologise to him. He said the apology never came before her death.

He also dismissed claims that Lola disliked his late mother or that the two women had a bad relationship.

When my mom was sick… Lola stayed with her in the hospital till midnight and took the pastors back home every day for over two months,” he said.

Mr P further alleged that before her death, his mother asked Paul and Jude to apologise to him, but claimed they never did.

Rudeboy has largely remained silent amid the public revelations surrounding the family dispute. His latest statement appears to be one of his few public responses to the allegations made by Mr P.

The disagreement between the former P-Square members and Jude has continued to generate controversy, with previous episodes of Mr P’s series touching on issues including royalties, company management, alleged financial misconduct, threats and ownership of a property in Atlanta.

Jude has denied key allegations and maintained that some of the issues are already before the court.

Rudeboy’s management has previously stated that the singer remains focused on his music career and does not intend to engage in a public back-and-forth over the family dispute.
