WAEC Publishes Final Timetable for 2026 Private WASSCE Second Series

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the final timetable for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, Second Series.
The timetable, published on WAEC Nigeria’s official website, provides the dates, times and duration of papers for candidates taking part in the examination.
According to the schedule, the examination activities will run from Friday, September 4 to Wednesday, October 28, 2026, giving candidates a clearer timetable for their final preparations.
The examination begins on September 4 with papers and practical planning sessions, while several of the major subjects are scheduled for October.
General Mathematics will be taken on Saturday, October 3. The essay paper is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon, while the objective paper will follow from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Chemistry is scheduled for Monday, October 5, with the essay, objective and alternative-to-practical papers taking place at different times during the day.
Candidates offering Biology are scheduled to sit for the subject on Wednesday, October 7, while Physics papers are fixed for Thursday, October 15.
One of the major papers, English Language, is scheduled for Saturday, October 17. The timetable provides separate periods for the essay, objective and Test of Orals components.
Other subjects contained in the final timetable include Literature-in-English, Government, Economics, Civic Education, Geography, Financial Accounting, Commerce, Agricultural Science, Nigerian languages, Further Mathematics, Health Education, Physical Education and a range of vocational and technical subjects.
The examination is expected to conclude on Wednesday, October 28, with Technical Drawing among the final scheduled papers. The September 4 to October 28 examination window is also reflected in reports based on the newly released WAEC timetable.
Candidates are advised to check the final timetable carefully and confirm the exact date and time assigned to each of the subjects for which they registered, rather than relying on unofficial or older versions circulating online.
WAEC’s publication of the final timetable comes as candidates prepare for the Second Series of the private examination, commonly referred to as WAEC GCE.
