Air Peace has temporarily suspended one of its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick flights after a technical issue was identified during routine safety checks carried out after passenger boarding.

‎The airline, in a statement released by its management, said engineers detected the fault during standard operational inspections, prompting the withdrawal of the aircraft from service as a precautionary measure.

“A routine technical check conducted after boarding revealed an issue requiring immediate attention,” the airline stated, adding that all passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft in accordance with safety procedures.

‎Air Peace emphasized that the action was taken to uphold strict aviation safety standards and protect both passengers and crew members.

“The safety of our passengers and crew remains central to every decision we make. Consequently, the aircraft was withdrawn from operation to enable the necessary maintenance procedures,” the statement added.

‎The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the disruption and disclosed that affected passengers were provided with support, including hotel accommodation and other welfare arrangements.

‎To ensure passengers continue their journey with minimal delay, Air Peace said an alternative aircraft would be dispatched from London for the operation.

‎According to the airline, the replacement aircraft is expected to arrive later in the morning for the rescheduled departure.

‎Air Peace also appreciated passengers for their patience and understanding throughout the disruption, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining safe and dependable flight services.

‎While the airline did not reveal the exact nature of the fault, it reiterated that proactive safety measures remain a key part of its operational standards.
