Air Peace Expands Fleet with Boeing 737-800 Acquisition

Nigeria’s leading carrier, Air Peace, has taken delivery of another Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft as part of its ongoing fleet expansion and operational growth strategy.
The aircraft, registered as 5N-CGD, arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on May 24, 2026, further boosting the airline’s capacity to meet increasing passenger demand across domestic and regional destinations.
Configured with 189 Economy Class seats, the Boeing 737-800 NG is expected to improve operational efficiency, passenger comfort and route flexibility within the airline’s growing network.
Speaking on the acquisition, the airline described the development as “another important step in strengthening operational capacity and enhancing service delivery across our network.”
Air Peace noted that the aircraft comes with advanced avionics, modern safety systems, spacious cabin features and fuel-efficient engines designed to support reliable and sustainable operations.
“The Boeing 737-800 NG offers the versatility and efficiency required to support our expanding operations while maintaining high standards of safety, comfort and reliability,” the airline stated.
The carrier added that the new aircraft would provide increased seat capacity, improved connectivity and more travel options for passengers across key destinations.
Industry stakeholders have also described the acquisition as a strategic move that reinforces Air Peace’s position within Africa’s aviation sector and supports its vision of positioning Nigeria as a major aviation hub on the continent.
Air Peace currently operates a diverse fleet comprising Boeing 777s, Boeing 737s, Embraer aircraft, Dornier jets and Airbus helicopters serving domestic, regional and international routes.
