Wilshere: Guimaraes, Vinicius Signings Would Prove Arsenal Are Not Standing Still

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has said the club’s reported interest in Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius Junior demonstrates its determination to build on last season’s success rather than settle for past achievements.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Wilshere described Newcastle United midfielder Guimaraes as an excellent fit for Mikel Arteta’s side, praising his quality and suggesting he would strengthen Arsenal’s midfield alongside Declan Rice.

“Bruno is a player that I really enjoy watching. With Mikel’s coaching and the quality he already has, I think it would be a top signing if they managed to get it done,” Wilshere said.

He also highlighted Rice’s importance to

the team, noting that the England international remains one of Arsenal’s key players after playing a major role in the club’s title-winning campaign.

Arsenal have also been linked with a sensational move for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior.

Although no deal has been agreed, the Brazilian winger has emerged as one of the club’s reported transfer targets this summer.

Wilshere believes landing a player of Vinicius’ calibre would send a powerful message to Arsenal’s Premier League rivals.

“It would definitely be a statement. It would show that after winning the league, they’re not resting on that. They want to improve, both on the pitch and commercially, with a signing like that,” he said.

The former midfielder added that Arsenal’s pursuit of elite talent reflects the club’s ambition to remain competitive at the highest level under Arteta.

While negotiations for both players remain uncertain, reports suggest Arsenal are monitoring the situations closely as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
